How to Prepare for Camp

IF YOU ARE RENTING EQUIPMENT—THE ADOBE DOWNLOAD AND SIGN UP WILL BE DONE ON EACH COMPUTER BEFORE CAMP AND WILL BE READY TO USE ON THE FIRST DAY.

We will use the email on file to register the software. If there is a conflict with this email, Jennifer will text you directly to get a second email address to use.

Please make sure you are using a laptop, not an iPad or tablet. Also, all computers must have a USB port in order to load camp material each day. If you do not have a USB port, they do make adapters that you can plug into the laptop.

IF YOU ARE BRINGING YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT THEN FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO DOWNLOAD ADOBE PHOTOSHOP.

IMPORTANT: If Adobe Photoshop is not installed before Monday then there is a chance your camper will not be able to participate in the design projects.

TIP: It is faster to download these program when the computer is plugged into the charger.

LET’S GET STARTED:

Use the button below to download Adobe Photoshop for Individuals.

IMPORTANT: This is only a trial for 7 days. On the last day of camp, if you do not want to be charged for an annual subscription, please cancel the trial. If you want to keep a subscription to Adobe Photoshop, then do nothing. Your card will automatically be charged.

STEP ONE:

Pick a plan—We suggest the Photoshop Plan for $20.99. You will not be charged until the end of the trial date. Photoshop is the only app we are using during the week of camp. Don’t forget to cancel in 7 days.

Note: If you forget to cancel the trial, the subscription is an annual plan. Billing will be for 12 months.

STEP TWO:

Pick a subscription—Remember, billing automatically starts after your 7-day free trial ends. We usually set an alert on my phone on Thursday afternoon so we don’t forget.

STEP THREE:

Adobe has a special offer with new subscriptions. You can get a 1-month free trial to Adobe Stock, 10 images a month. We do allow campers that have this free trial to download free graphics, images, and videos that can be incorporated into projects.

This can be canceled at the end of your trial. Please add it to your cart.

STEP FOUR:

If you have registered an email address with Adobe anytime in the past, you will not be able to use that specific email address to download Photoshop. You should use a different email address. Remember, each student should have an email address linked to their school if you have already used all of your family email addresses.

➡️Please use the same email that you registered for camp with and use the password: !Pixel2023 (capital P).

If you use a different email or password, please write down the information and tape it to the computer. We do this just in case we have to re-sign in at any point of the week.

➡️ You may be prompted to answer a few questions. You must be 13 to download Adobe Photoshop so you may have to use the year 2010 if you are using your child’s name and they are under age 13 to register for Adobe Photoshop.

STEP FIVE:

PLEASE NOTE: This is a two-step download process. You will download the creative cloud (this holds all the apps). Once this step is completed THEN you will see another window that shows PHOTOSHOP. Click the “INSTALL” button. Continue with the second download. You will have an Adobe Creative Cloud icon on your desktop. Do not delete it. Open the app to make sure it opens on your computer. If it does, then it is ready for camp.

When installing Photoshop, you will be asked the following questions. You can skip all questions or use the answers below.

1. Please select what best describes your current role from the list below: Answer “Student”

2. How familiar are you with Photoshop? (you choose your level)

3. What do you want to do first with Photoshop? Answer “Create Graphics and Visual Effects”
